Appearance
A rich, mirror-like black that catches the light on every facet. Gold or silver engraving contrasts sharply against the dark surface, making the numbers highly legible.
Durability & care
Obsidian is hard and dense but, being a natural glass, it is more brittle than banded stones — a sharp corner dropped onto tile can chip. Roll on a soft tray and it will last for years.

Is obsidian durable enough for regular play?
Yes, with normal care. Obsidian is hard, but as a natural glass it can chip on hard impacts, so we recommend a felt or leather dice tray. For everyday play it holds up very well.
Can obsidian dice be made sharp-edged?
Yes. We cut obsidian into precise, flat-faced polyhedral dice with clean edges, then hand-polish each face for a smooth, glossy finish.
